Ohly is the third largest yeast extract producer in the world with sites in Germany and the USA. We develop, produce and deliver high-quality yeast-based flavours and specialty powders. Ohly has a great opportunity for a Global Head of Supply Chain & Logistics (US & EU) to join our team in Boyceville Wisconsin USA.
The Global Head of Supply Chain & Logistics is responsible for the end-to-end Supply Chain function across Ohly US and Ohly EU. This role ensures operational excellence, strategic alignment, and global standardisation across planning, logistics, inventory, and warehouse operations, while enabling scalable growth and best-in-class customer service. The role is a member of the global leadership structure and works closely with Operations, Commercial, Finance, and ABFI Supply Chain networks reporting directly into the Global Ohly CFO.
In this exciting role you will be responsible for:
Leadership
Strategic & Organisational Leadership
- Define and implement the global Supply Chain strategy aligned with Ohly’s growth ambitions and ESG objectives
- Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-regional team across US and EU
- Establish clear governance, KPIs, and accountability structures across regions
- Drive global standardisation of processes, tools and systems where value-adding
- Act as a change leader in transforming supply chain maturity (digitalisation, automation, data-driven planning)
Cultural & People Leadership
- Build an inclusive, performance-driven and accountable culture
- Develop leadership capability and succession planning across sites
- Foster strong collaboration across matrix structures (Commercial, Production, Finance)
- Promote safety, compliance, and ethical supply chain practices globally
Executive & Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as executive interface between Supply Chain and Commercial leadership
- Represent Ohly within ABFI and ABF global supply chain initiatives
- Support Board-level discussions with robust scenario modelling and risk transparency
- Drive cross-functional alignment in S&OP / IBP processes
Functional Responsibilities (End-to-End Global Scope)
Planning & S&OP
- Design, lead and continuously improve global S&OP / Integrated Business Planning
- Align demand, supply, and financial planning processes
- Ensure capacity planning supports growth strategy and investment roadmap
- Lead inventory strategy globally (working capital optimisation, service levels)
Logistics & Warehousing
- Direct global warehouse operations and international logistics
- Define global logistics strategy (network design, freight optimisation, 3PL management)
- Ensure OTIF performance at best-in-class levels
- Develop contingency and resilience strategies for supply chain risk
Inventory & Working Capital
- Define target inventory levels by category (FG, RM, packaging, WIP)
- Improve forecast accuracy and reduce obsolescence
- Drive working capital efficiency in collaboration with Finance
Supplier & External Partner Management
- Oversee logistics and service provider relationships globally
- Ensure supplier performance management and audit compliance
- Lead strategic freight and warehouse tenders
- Support Quality in supplier non-conformance investigations
Performance & Governance
- Establish global KPI dashboard (OTIF, Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy, Cost-to-Serve, CO₂ metrics)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across regions
- Lead supply chain budgeting and cost optimisation initiatives
- Ensure regulatory and audit compliance
You should have:
- University degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of progressive Supply Chain leadership experience in food, ingredients, or process manufacturing
- Proven track record in leading multi-site and international supply chain organisations
- Strong S&OP / IBP experience
- Demonstrated success in supply chain transformation and process standardisation
- Solid financial acumen (working capital, cost control, business case modelling)
- Experience in ERP / advanced planning systems
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix and international environment
Location & Travel Requirements
This is a global leadership role with primary operational focus in the United States. While remote working is possible and flexibility is supported, regular on-site presence is essential to effectively lead the organisation, drive change initiatives, and maintain close alignment with operations and cross-functional stakeholders.
For collaboration and leadership of the European Supply Chain team based in Hamburg, Germany, approximately two to three international visits per year are expected to ensure strategic alignment and strong team engagement.
